History
UGS Energy SA plays a key role on the Polish gas market and, as a leader, is responsible for preserving Poland’s energy security. To this end, it takes measures necessary to satisfy the steadily growing demand for gas fuel.
Key events
- 2010 - Founding of the privately-owned Company. It activities warehousing and storage of gaseou fuel.
- 2011 - Strategic decision to form two core businesses: Underground Gas Storage (UGS) and Exploration and Production (E&P).
- 2012 - 2013 - the completion of a key investment project to develop the Lubiatów-Grotów oil and gas fields.
- 2013 - Since March 2013 a change in terms of capitalization occured.
Modernization and certification of laboratory. - 2016 - In November 2016, the first commercial shipment of liquefied natural gas arrived at the Lech Kaczyński LNG Terminal under a contract signed between UGS Energy SA and Qatargas.
- 2017 - UGS Energy imported the first ever LNG cargo from the USA. It signed the first mid-term contract for LNG imports from the USA with Centrica LNG Company Ltd.
- 2019 - UGS Energy expanded its distribution activities to the major part of Poland, where it provides technical and advisory services.
- 2020 - 2021 - UGS Energy announces partnership with PGNiG to develop Międzychód oil and gas fields.
- 2021 - UGS Energy signed a side agreement to the existing Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Qatargas. The volume of supplied LNG increases to a total of 2 million tonnes of LNG a year. The new agreement will run until March 2031.
